Amos Oz in true form

Following upon the publication of his stunning fictionalized memoir A Tale of Love and Darkness, in 2002 Oz has written two hauntingly beautiful collections of inter-related short stories, Scenes From Village Life (about a sleepy, yet hardly serene, village in the north of Israel) and, most recently, “Between Friends,” in which Oz returns to the kibbutz where his literary career – and adult life – began:
